APD14 OXYGEN SENSOR (COAXIAL)
APD14 OXYGEN SENSOR (COAXIAL)
Coaxial Swivel Connection
The APD14 oxygen sensor, distributed by Silent Diving, is a high-performance, internally restructured oxygen cell from AP Diving. This sensor features an innovative water-repelling cell face and an advanced cathode housing designed to ensure the cathode remains lubricated in all conditions, enhancing both the lifespan and stability of the cell.
Performance and Reliability
The APD14 boasts an exceptional performance record with the lowest return rate of any oxygen cell sold by AP Diving in the past 18 years. Due to efficiencies in the supply chain, Silent Diving offers the APD14 at a slightly lower price than the APD16. Additionally, the APD14 does not require divers to adjust the Gradient Factor, making it a more convenient choice.
Compatibility with Other Cells
While the APD14 can be mixed with APD16 oxygen cells, it’s important to note that the dominant cells will determine whether a Gradient Factor adjustment is necessary. For example, if you use two APD14 cells and one APD16 cell, you won’t need to make any adjustments to the GF high.
Important Note for APD16 or Narked@90 Cells Users
Although the APD16 and Narked@90 cells are highly stable, they tend to read 0.05 bar higher than the actual PO2 once the Inspiration scrubber warms up, typically 15 to 20 minutes into the dive. Consequently, you will need to adjust the Gradient Factor down when using these cells (refer to the APD16 page for detailed instructions).
Cell Availability
APD14 cells are generally available, although there may be occasional gaps between shipments or backorders from the manufacturer. Silent Diving strives to ship orders as promptly as possible, fulfilling them in the order they are received.
